Discover the beauty of Japanese artistry in this hands-on 4-day workshop – The Art of Ikebana & Decorative Clay Vases, where ceramic form meets floral expression. Over the course of two weekends, 2-hours per day, you’ll be guided by Dragonfly Instructor and Ceramicist Ann-Claire Wood, and will learn to hand-build a unique clay vase specifically designed to complement Ikebana – the traditional Japanese art of floral arrangement.
What to Expect:
An introduction to Ikebana principles and how vase design can support a floral aesthetic
Success techniques in slab-building and constructing – no prior clay experience needed!
- Step-by-step guidance in assembling, shaping, decorating, and adding texture to your own unique vase.
Glazing and firing included – completing your vase in order to assemble your flower arrangement using Ikebana principles on the final day of the workshop. Take your finished vase and flower arrangement home with you, ready for display.
