THIS IS A 2-PART WORKSHOP – After your items are fired in the kiln for the first firing (the “bisque” firing), attendees will need to return on one of the following dates to glaze their items in preparation for the final kiln firing (the glaze firing):

  • March 13th – 2 to 4pm
  • March 17th – 5 to 7pm
  • March 20th – 2 to 4pm

Join us at The Dragonfly for a SPECIAL EVENT – A BEER STEINS AND MUGS clay hand-building workshop in our gallery and studio at 1511 Colley Ave in the heart of Ghent, where you’ll learn the basics of hand-building with clay, and be able to make your own creations to keep for years to come!

Attendees will learn:

  • How to work with clay – the basics
  • Techniques of forming used in hand-building
  • Assembly techniques – slip and score, etc.
  • Proper use of clay tools
  • Decorating and embellishing
  • Techniques to applying glaze

…and the best part – you’ll make 1 to 3 steins/mugs – your own custom, one-of-a-kind creations – Great to keep for yourself or give as gifts!

We follow ALL CDC GUIDELINES – all participants are required to wear a mask while within our facility at all times, and we adhere to proper social distancing guidelines. Our facility is over 2000 square feet with 12 foot ceilings, so there is plenty of space to spread out!

Cost: $65 per attendee

Age: 14 and up, under 18 must be accompanied by a parent who is also participating in the workshop.
