Welcome to this fun, creative, and engaging printmaking workshop at The Dragonfly Loft, perfect for the complete beginner or even for those with some printmaking experience!
We will be working from a personal photo of your favorite pet to carve a likeness from a linoleum block which we will then use to print several fun images onto a cardstock medium.
Led by Dragonfly Instructor Dani Krasner, you will be guided step by step through the process to ensure success in your final print. AND…you will have your completed block to continue to make prints for years to come – see an example student-created block to the right!
Class size limited – No previous experience necessary
STUDENTS WILL LEARN
- Basics printmaking concepts
- Use of tools and implements
- Carving techniques
- Surface preparation
- Proper use of printing press
- Students will leave with one complete custom carved printing block and several prints made from their block.Â
No experience is necessary for this class. Most supplies will be provided.
***STUDENTS MUST SUPPLY ONE OR MORE CLOSUP PHOTOS PRINTED ON PRINTER PAPER. PHOTOS CAN BE BLACK AND WHITE. Please ensure your photos are close-up – similar to the photo to the right.
